QUEST ON LAMBTON ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
We understand that all businesses create environmental and social impact through their activities. Ours is no exception. However, here at Quest on Lambton, we have started developing the following environmental policy which is based on a commitment to improving our environmental performance across all areas of our business practice, and in the services we offer. Our sustainability will be an ongoing journey which will improve with time and experience. We try to actively reduce any adverse effects through buying wisely, using resources efficiently, disposing of waste responsibly, and providing an environmentally and socially responsible experience to our guests.
1. We offer guests a towel and linen change option to help reduce energy and water use.
2. Low-energy light bulbs are now beginning installed in our apartment.
3. Guests are encouraged to use our recycle bins for the disposal of paper, glass, plastic, and tin. White plastic bags are kept in the kitchen cupboard for recycling.
4. Quest branded amenities are sourced from Australian or New Zealand suppliers. All plastic bottles are made from council approved recyclable plastic and formulations used for skin and hair products being are made with GE free ingredients and are biodegradable.
5. Staff encouraged not printing any unnecessary emails and where possible printing using recycled/double sided paper.
6. Purchase supplies only from producers who endorse environmentally-Friendly practices and who offer biodegradable items.
7. Donating supplementary products to Salvation Army.
8. Donating complimentary room night to the house of travel/Hospice New Zealand charity for accommodation for fund raising events.
9. Training staff in energy saving practices i.e. switching off lights, heating, towel rails.
10. Guests are encouraged not to use their vehicles in Wellington city. Everything in walking distance and for venturing further out there is regular buses, train and ferry service.
11. Any fridge, washing machines or dryers that are replaced have high energy saving rating.
